The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, presented the award this Monday at a ceremony in Paris.
Monday, December 14, 2020: The Federation of Official Chambers of Commerce of Spain in Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceania (FEDECOM) presented its Annual Award to SEAT on Monday, December 14 in Paris. With this recognition, FEDECOM recognizes each year a Spanish company that stands out for its commercial activity and international profile in one of the member countries of the Federation.
The award ceremony, which took place at the Residence of the Spanish Ambassador in France, was attended by Pedro Sánchez, President of the Government of Spain. Sánchez presented the award to the company at a ceremony that highlighted SEAT’s projection as a globally recognized Spanish brand, an example of an exporting company that serves as a model for so many other companies, its commitment to sustainability and innovation, its resilience and capacity for historical reinvention, its alignment with European values and its commitment to the Spanish chamber system.
SEAT is the leading Spanish industrial investor in R&D and leading exporting company in the Spanish manufacturing industry with a n export volume of 9,000 million euros in 2019. Its constant innovation and transformation over the last 70 years have marked its trajectory to become in a benchmark of mobility.
The President has presented the FEDECOM Award to the CEO of SEAT France, Robert Breschkow. Robert Breschkow has underlined his satisfaction at “being recognized for promoting trade, business development and our contribution to the good name of Spain and Spanish companies abroad”. Breschkow added that “we have been, are and will be a company that wants to generate wealth, share prosperity and offer the best mobility solutions to make people’s lives easier.” France is the fourth most relevant market for SEAT in terms of sales and has been key to SEAT’s growth in Europe. Between 2016 and 2019, SEAT’s sales in France increased by 80% and it became the fastest growing car brand on the French market in 2018 and 2019.
The President of FEDECOM, Eduardo Barrachina, also took part in the award ceremony held at the Spanish Embassy in Paris. Among other things, Barrachina said that “SEAT is the industrial heritage and economic history of Spain”, adding that “SEAT has a place in the memory and affective universe of the Spanish people, precisely because their cars have accompanied our prosperity.”
Barrachina has highlighted the extraordinary relationship that exists between the Government (through the Secretary of State for Commerce), the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the foreign chambers of commerce, of which SEAT is a major and very important player.
In addition, the President of FEDECOM has taken the opportunity to remind those present of the future projects in which the Federation is working: the digitization of these institutions to bring the network of Chambers to all its users, the development of a map of services to collaborate with the Spanish Public Administration in its foreign action and the improvement in communication and visibility to value the work that the institution does.
